How-To:Setting up 3G USB Celcom on Mac (Huawei)?

Hi.
This Setting for 3G USB Celcom (Huawei Brand) running on Mac Os X.4 Tiger ( For Leopard setting,similar also)..
a) Install driver for USB Celcom Broadband (Don’t plug in the USB during installation)
b) Plug in the USB Celcom Broadband.
c) Open system preferences > network
d) Create Location or choose ‘Automatic’..
e) Show : Huawei 3G
f) On the PPP : Account Name & Password just leave blank
Telephone Number : *99#
g) on the Modem : Choose the huawei driver
(Don’t forget to “Tick” the “Show Modem status in menu bar” for create shortcut connection)
h) Apply Now.
i) Try the shortcut to Connect! and Happy Surf..

Hi Bambi,
this happen to me also because i am stay out of town.The 3G speed only available only in town.My connection sometimes disconnect while using this USB broadband.Already report this problem to our provider but seems no answer from them.I thought maybe my USB broadband have a problem.We need someone expert here to help us about this connection.

Howdy there,
Is that the same setting for 3G. I have a Huawei 220 on Mac osX10.4 when I am out of town the gprs is slow yet consistent (the light is solid green) when I am in town where the 3G access is available, I get a blue light but it doesn’t connect. Any thoughts on this or alternative settings to activate the 3G speed of this handy and essential machine… Thanks Bambi
